Treatments

We combine the benefits of aromatic Essential Oils with those of Massage, Acupressure, Indian Head Massage or Reiki. Each modality is beneficial as a standalone therapy, but the combination with the aromatic essences gives a unique approach, tailored to the specific needs of the receiver. It is a holistic approach that treats on the mental and emotional, as well as on the physical levels.
Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy

Holistic Clinical Aromatherapy uses essential oils to help generate healing in the whole body. It is a holistic experience, working on the levels of body mind and spirit. Holistic, derived from the Greek ‘holos’, means whole.

The combination of essential oils with massage is a deeply pleasurable and nurturing experience, as well as being an effective way of healing that can be beneficial to everyone.

Essential oils are fragrant volatile liquids that occur naturally in plants. They are extracted from the different plant parts; flowers, leaves, roots, bark and fruits. The oils are the ‘essence’ of that particular plant and are responsible for giving the plant its unique scent.

Through aromatherapy and using the essential oils, we can improve both our physical and emotional health. Essential oils can be absorbed through the skin, making massage a very effective way of introducing them into the body.

Each essential oil has its own distinctive profile and therapeutic and energetic properties. They are chosen to work in synergy with the presenting requirements of the individual as a whol

Aromatic Acupressure

Aromatic Acupressure

Acupressure is an ancient Oriental therapy that uses finger and thumb pressure on specific points of the body. The stimulation and holding of these points triggers and regulates the flow of energy or ‘qi’ within the meridians or energy channels of the body, which in turn helps to balance the complete energy system of the body.

Acupressure (or Meridian) Massage is based on the manual stimulation of the body’s Meridian system – the same network of vital energy channels used in Acupuncture.

When combined with individually selected essential oils, Acupressure Massage becomes Aromatic Acupressure. Aromatic Acupressure may be applied as part of a full massage treatment or as part of selective or localised treatment. The client receives a blend to take away for self-application as part of their ongoing self-care.

Indian Head Massage

Subtle Aromatherapy

Subtle Aromatherapy is the use of specifically selected essential oils combined with energy healing to enhance personal and spiritual wellbeing.

Working with the aura and chakras, this therapy primarily affects the mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of an individual. Subtle Aromatherapy rebalances our energy flow and in doing so helps restore mental and emotional balance.

The treatment promotes relaxation, restores mental focus and clarity, eases fatigue and helps relieve anxiety and depression. It’s also a lovely way to enhance your meditation practice.

Therapeutic massage

Therapeutic Massage

Massage is applied to the skin and the muscles under the skin, helping to release physical tension, ease stress and promote relaxation. The effects of the massage spread to the deeper muscles and organs of the body.

Therapeutic massage enhances the circulation of blood and lymph, helping eliminate toxins and bring nourishment to each area of the body and skin. As it soothes and releases muscular stress and tension, it encourages an overall sense of renewed energy and wellbeing. The releasing of physical tension through therapeutic touch also has a releasing effect on psychological tension.

Combining the effects of therapeutic massage with the beneficial properties of carrier oils, such as Sweet Almond, Calendula or Jojoba, is a deeply pleasurable, yet highly effective way of healing and enhancing wellbeing in general. These natural oils are chosen according to your skin type and can help enhance the condition of your skin.

The benefits of therapeutic massage are cumulative; as you experience more massage, the feelings of wellbeing are sustained for longer periods of time, between each session.

Reiki

Reiki

Two Japanese words, ‘rei’, meaning Universal and ‘ki’, meaning life force energy combine to give the word Reiki. Ki, also known as ‘qi’ or ‘chi’, flows through all living things – it keeps us alive. We receive this energy from many sources; sunshine, food, water and the Earth itself. The Reiki practitioner ‘channels’ this energy through their hands in a concentrated, powerful form. Reiki works on all levels of one’s being – physical, mental and emotional. It is a non-invasive therapy, where the client remains fully clothed. Reiki can also be integrated into a therapeutic massage routine. The process is a simple yet powerful one, not based on any religious beliefs, that allows the healing energy to flow to wherever it is needed in the receiver. Chakras (‘wheels’ or ‘discs’ in Sanskrit) are energy centres located in specific parts of the body. As part of the treatment the chakras are brought back to a balanced flow. Essential oils can be used on specific chakras to enhance the effects of the treatment.

About

Eve Doyle - aromatherapist and owner of Subtle Aromatics

I’m Eve, the founder of Subtle Aromatics.  I first came across essential oils 30 years ago, when I had my first sniff of geranium essential oil and was instantly smitten! I’m passionate about complementary therapies and I believe profoundly in the power of natural remedies for health and healing.

Subtle Aromatics exists to support and help  people maintain good mental, emotional and physical health and an excellent quality of life using natural remedies and therapies.

I am a graduate of the Institute of Traditional Herbal Medicine and Aromatherapy (ITHMA), a member of the International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists (IFPA) and am registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).  I am also a Reiki and Seichem Master Teacher and am fully insured to practice.

As a therapist, I work with Gabriel Mojay’s system of Oriental Aromatherapy, which combines the use essential oils for the mind and emotions in conjunction with a solid clinical practice. He is the author of “Aromatherapy for Healing the Spirit.”

I use organic and wild-crafted essential, infused and base oils, sourced from ethical suppliers. Each blend is created according to the symptoms or issues presented on the day. Recommendations for self-care in between treatments are offered at the end of each session.

For your first treatment, a detailed consultation is taken. This helps to define as fully as possible a treatment plan that is perfect for you.

COVID -19 Notice

4 November 2020

Lockdown #2

On 31 October 2020 the government announced that we would enter a Tier 4 lockdown, from 5 November to 2 December. This means that all face to face therapies must be paused during this period.

We will update you and our website as soon as we possibly can with our next steps after this lockdown has ended.

Having to navigate our way through a second lockdown is understandably a difficult and frustrating prospect for everyone. Hopefully we will all come out the other side of this situation better, wiser, kinder and stronger.

In the meantime, Eve is available to answer any questions you might have regarding your health and wellbeing, and things you can do at home to keep yourself as well as possible.

Continue to take good care and hopefully we’ll see you very soon.

Be kind. Be safe. Be well.
